Introduction

Q-Park is one of the three largest parking organizations in Europe. With more than 3325 parking facilities, including car parks in the city centres of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Maastricht and The Hague. The objective was to redesign a user-friendly mobile app and website which I also translated into a design system.

Understanding the Challenge

Q-Park encountered significant hurdles with its mobile app. The application fell short in various aspects, missing out on features that could unlock its true potential beyond simply just displaying the nearest Q-Park location. After conducting user interviews and extensive market research, it became evident that there was a lot room for enhancing its functionality. From enabling gate access through QR codes to streamlining on-street parking, aimed with the goal to have 1 app for all your parking needs.

Onboarding flow

A well-designed onboarding flow for a mobile parking app is crucial for a seamless user experience and the overall success of the application. An onboarding flow introduces users to the app's features and functionality. It helps them understand how to navigate and use the app, making them feel comfortable right from the start. By incorporating the essential steps of adding a payment method and a vehicle number plate into this onboarding process, we try to set the stage for users to maximize the app's full potential.
